Lesson Plan 2Journal by Dale Hegler Our No Barriers class discussion on Nov. 6 focused on goal setting, being persistent, and having relationships in which learning and successes can take place. I used these same ideas for a class discussion with my second graders on Nov. 10. We decided they might have as many as 90 years ahead of them in their lives! I asked them to begin thinking about what made them happy and what they could do well. They were told to spend some time at lunch or recess thinking of goals or dreams they'd like to accomplish in their lifetime. For our Language Arts lesson at the end of the day I gave them the title, My Hopes, My Dreams. They were asked to write at least 5 sentences (indenting and in paragraph form) telling about their hopes and dreams. I learned a lot more about my students from reading their paragraphs. It was a good activity. |
