It rained heavily last night and there is a lot of flooding in the forest here at Tapawingo. Laid in bed this morning listening to the wind howling. It had the high speed thrill like wind through the rigging of the boat, except it was our home and the trees. Then it sounded like a freight train as a major gust come through.
Spoke to a few close friends to catch up on the week gone by. Ralph was at home in Bermuda preparing his keynote that he will give in Brazil next month. It was through Ralph that we got the invitation to the World Summit in Sao Paulo. So we will get to hang out together at the summit, but then Darlene and I expect to be back in Bermuda in April for a weekend.
I tinkered around the ponds transplanting variegated water cress from one of the little ponds to the big pond. Got wood in for the fire place but we need to get a new supply of wood as its starting to run low. Transplanted basil seedlings to larger pot. Enjoying being in the garden, even though it is early in the season. The lettuce will be ready for eating in another week or two.

Darlene has a sore throat and a cold. She’s been working hard closing deals and the calendar is pretty full. She was ironing and getting bags ready for our trips. Not sure if she will be in South Africa with me next weekend or not. We will be in Brazil together, but I will be going directly from Cape Town to Brazil.
We are both reading Charles Barkley who’s afraid of a large black man?. Very interesting and thought provoking. Would love to sit down with him and continue the discussion on race. This is a must read.
