Transition of life

Life can be very fleeting. We can go through life taking much for granted, and then suddenly, it is over. Over for ever in our realm of reality. Such was it for our family yesterday. Uncle Sparky as I knew him, Darlene’s aunt’s husband, passed away. Just 3 weeks he had a mild heart attack. Darlene jumped onto the next plane to be up there with him and his wife, Sandra Papernelli, in Utica, New York. Sparky had outlived his 4 brothers who all died of heart complaints at a young age. He made it to 72 years of age, and has no children.

Darlene was particularly close to her uncle. We spoke regularly on the phone, and she saw the family a few times a year. Yet, this still came as a shock. He is survived by his wife and four sisters. The funeral is on Wednesday in Utica. The family is holding up remarkably well.
