Darlene and I have had another chance not just to reflect on our amazing life together, but to return to some of the key places where significant memories have been built. In November 1999 we went sailing in the Grenadines. We flew into St. Vincent and departed from Blue Lagoon. Darlene and I returned to Blue Lagoon having spent an overnight in the same anchorage in Tobago Keys. It was after that trip that I proposed marriage. In 2003 I was asked to speak in Nevis to Candle Corporation. Darlene and I flew over to the Four Season’s Hotel and spent almost a week there where Al Zollar of IBM heard my keynote and suggested that IBM hire me for a major event that became the sling shot of my speaking career. Darlene and I sailed past Nevis and reflected on how far we have come in the business game since that keynote which was my turning point and lead to my tipping point.
Since 1999 we have acquired two homes, various material possessions such as land, cars boats, have traveled to unbelievable places and met some incredible people. The day we met if someone told us what our future would look like, we would have said that they had the wrong reading. None of us knows what tomorrow may bring, and hence we must seize each day that we do have and make it special. No amount of money could buy happiness. It is created by our daily actions. Dreams do happen. Don’t be afraid to dream, and to dream big. Here today we sit on our 50 foot yacht in the lagoon surrounded by mega yacht and get to visit aboard some. We are small, yet we are part of a different world. Our values have not changed, nor are we as human beings. We are having different experiences we never imagined because we are open to the world of possibility.
