We have always had a need or fascination for things in this world, whether they are the very basic essentials such as food, shelter, clothing, medicine, or the necessities to progress such as education, electricity, transportation, or ultimately the luxuries of a second home, a boat or our own jet. Things require raw material or intellectual property plus labor to create, then marketing to promote it to sales’ people, and eventually it ends up being offered to us, the consumer. This does not happen till we hand over our money to purchase it.
It is said that money makes the world go round. I used to believe that money was energy, and like any form of energy, that it could not be created or destroyed, only transformed. We all work to create money. So I have come to ask myself, as I toll at various income streams, what am I creating? Enterprises, businesses, a way of life? This leads to the next question. How much is enough? I do not have all the answers, but I do know that money cannot buy happiness. This is something that is internal. If we were happy before we had money, we will still be a happy person after we have it. If we loose our money, we do not loose our happiness. The trouble is that when we love money more than anything else, we run into trouble.
We need to be accountable for all our actions, which includes how we generate our incomes, what we spend on it. Accountability is linked to accounting. We account for all our actions and are responsible for each outcome. This leads to respect. Respect for people, animals, plants, all forms of life in general, respect for our environment, for things and ultimately respectful for all forms of energy which includes the respect for money. Money is a tool. It is how you will choose to use, or abuse, this tool.
There was a great DVD Money as debt on the creation of money, that you need to find and watch. You should read Susie Orman's financial books as well as Robert Kawasaki’s works, starting with Rich Dad, Poor Dad. If this is not enough, after you have taken certain steps, you can attend my personalized 3 day financial boot camp that is a one on one (two at the most) in depth, basic personal financial guidance program.
