I am under spinaker making 5 kn E. Slowly settling down to life at sea.
Got more rest last pm. Ship woke me when it entered my radar guard zone. Then flying fish called me onto deck on mercy mission. I thought about fresh fish for breakfast, but it was not big enough by itself. It swam off happily. At sunrise I hoisted spinaker with all the signatures on it. It flew for a while while I hunted for steady breeze. Breeze got lighter out of SW so I switched to bigger spinaker. Yesterday I had problem with STD C unit. It jammed and would not transmit. Technology is great when it works. But we have redundancy on boat. I was able to get a call on the mini-M telephone & address the problem. There was no quitting till solution was found.I pulled out cables to check connections. Then I started swapping out cables. Still no luck. Then I got permission to try turning off the unit at the switch. Nothing. Finally, we decided to turn unit off at battery. On repowering,it worked. I did the search systematically. I am sleepy, but will listen to music & drive. the new Autohelm works great, but it can't make decisions I can. I will cook 1st meal later today. Will tell you tomorrow what I ate.
